摘要
本文聚焦于《格萨尔》这一藏族民族史诗的英译本。通过对葛浩文和王国振两位译者的译本进行对比分析,本文探讨了译者主体性在翻译过程中的重要作用。葛浩文译本注重准确性和文化传递,对原著内容进行了适当的删减和调整,同时浅化了文化现象的处理,以适应英语读者的阅读习惯。王国振译本则更加注重深度和细节,通过直译与意译相结合的方式,忠实呈现原文语义,并加入详尽的脚注与附录,帮助读者克服文化障碍。本研究有助于深入理解译者主体性对翻译作品质量和文化传播效果的影响。
This paper focuses on the English translations of the Tibetan ethnic epic“Gesar”.Through a comparative analysis of the translations by Howard Goldblatt and Wang Guozhen,it explores the significant role of translator's subjectivity in the translation process.Goldblatt's translation emphasizes accuracy and cultural transmission,making appropriate deletions and adjustments to the original content while simplifying the treatment of cultural phenomena to cater to the reading habits of English readers.In contrast,Wang Guozhen's translation pays more attention to the depth and detail,faithfully presenting the original semantics through a combination of literal and free translations,and incorporating detailed footnotes and appendices to help readers overcome cultural barriers.This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the impact of translator's subjectivity on the quality of translated works and the effectiveness of cultural dissemination.
