摘要
作为文化交流的重要媒介,翻译在中西互释和文明互鉴的跨时空、跨文化语境中发挥着关键作用。当前,ChatGPT等翻译技术凭借其生成类人语言的先进能力,在许多领域已在很大程度上逐渐取代传统的人工翻译。然而,中国哲学典籍翻译作为人类活动中一项极其复杂的思维运动,需要对语言文化和哲学问题有根源性的理解,因此人工翻译仍然不可或缺。本文以《传习录》英译为例,分析ChatGPT迅速发展过程中翻译的技术转向,探究哲学典籍翻译的内在理路,审视技术理性和价值理性、技术本质和翻译本质、译者职责和翻译伦理之间的关系演变。
Translation,as an important medium of cultural exchange,plays a crucial role in the cross-temporal and cross-cultural context of mutual understanding and learning between the East and the West.With the advanced ability to generate human-like language,translation technologies such as ChatGPT have now gradually replaced traditional human translation to a great extend in many fields.However,as an extremely complex intellectual activity in human history,the translation of Chinese philosophical classics requires a profound understanding of language,culture,and philosophical issues,and therefore manual translation remains indispensable.This paper takes the English translation of Chuan Xi Lu as an example to analyze the technological turn of translation during the ChatGPT craze,to explore the internal logic of translating philosophical classics,to examine the evolution of the relationship between technological rationality and value rationality,technological essence and translation essence,translator's responsibility and translation ethics.
