摘要
社会建构论长期占据STS理论和传播学理解媒介与社会之关系的主流,但常被误解为技术决定论和媒介中心论的媒介研究并未对其展开充分回应。在STS理论内部,社会建构论正面临越来越多的反思与挑战。自主性技术、ANT、可供性等STS理论在反思社会建构论的基础上对技术的能动力量作出了不同的理论阐释,开辟出与技术决定论和社会建构论不同的研究路径,也为媒介研究进行更准确的理论定位提供了宝贵资源。STS理论与媒介研究的“交光互影”,可以帮助我们弥合媒介理论与经验研究的鸿沟,打破人类中心主义立场,在不同行动者构造的多面、动态关系中理解传播与媒介,推进传播研究对媒介与人之存在、媒介与人类文明之关系的探索。
The social constructivism of technology has long been the mainstream for communication and STS scholars to understand the relation between media and society,but media studies,which was often misunderstood as technological determinism and media-centered argument,haven’t responded to it.The social constructivism has been increasingly reflected and challenged in STS.Theories such as autonomous technology,ANT and affordance reflect on social constructivism and make new theoretical elaborations on the agency of technology,which diverge from social constructivism and technological determinism.They provide valuable resources for more accurate theoretical positioning of media studies..The crossover between STS and media studies can help us bridge the gap between media theoretical research and empirical research,break the anthropocentric position,and understand communication and media in the multifaceted and dynamic relationship constructed by different actors,which will advance our exploration of the relationship between media,human existence and civilization.
