摘要
卡勒德·胡赛尼的小说《追风筝的人》讲述了一个发生在主人公阿米尔和他的仆人之间的故事。小说的成功很大程度上取决于小说所蕴藏的伦理内涵。文章以文学伦理学批评的理论为依据,分析主人公阿米尔在人生三个不同时期所做出的伦理选择,阐释阿米尔一步步弃恶向善的道德之路。文章认为,主人公阿米尔的每一次伦理选择都为其后来的情感煎熬、道德升华做出了伦理铺垫,也揭示了"罪恶与惩罚""行善与救赎"的伦理意义。小说也借此实现了文学文本劝人弃恶扬善的教诲意义。
The Kite Runner,a popular fiction by Afghan-American author Khaled Hosseini,tells a story about an Afghan,who is from a well-to-do Pashtun family,focusing on his troubled relationship with his servant.The novel,ever since its publication in 2006,has gained a wide popularity among readers and attracted the great interest of scholars at home and abroad.From the perspective of ethical literary criticism,this article studies the ethical and moral development of the hero through an analysis of the ethical choices made by the hero in the different stages of his life.The author of the article argues that each ethical choice paves the way for the growth of the hero.In the novel,the ethical significance of“evilness and punishment”and“beneficence and redemption”is revealed.Finally,it comes to a conclusion that this novel is heavily loaded with ethical enlightenment;thus the educative function of literature is self-evident to readers.
