摘要进入新时期后,中国古代小说的研究,在反思、求新的过程中,从理论观念,到思维方法,逐步完成了大转型。特别是在近30年中,在各方面取得了颇为可观的学术成就:一、上世纪80、90年代,中国小说史的编著空前繁荣起来,在内容、形式、体例等各个方面都有惊人的变化。这主要表现在:尝试引进各种新的观点与方法来重新解释小说史上的现象与发展的规律;力图突破鲁迅《中国小说史略》的框架,断代史、类别史、专题史特别红火;对小说艺术的特性更为关注,出现了探讨小说艺术发展的专史,甚至就艺术表现或文体特征中的某个专题敷衍成史;多数史著都在不同的范围内、不同的角度上注意纵向的描述,勾勒出历史发展的线索;打破了许多研究禁区,研究视野更为开阔,分析问题更为细致。二、大约在1984年前后,学术界掀起了引进国外理论与方法的热潮,开阔了小说研究者的文化视野。一些学人也纷纷择取这些理论与方法来阐释中国的小说文本。但不管是用传统的还是时髦的方法,大致都致力于解读某一部小说,且也没有一种理论或方法形成主流。相对影响较大的,叙事学一时有较大的市场。三、随着传播学、接受学等学说的引进,研究小说的传播问题也是新时期的一门新学问,受到了越来越多的人的关注。四、在西方"新批评"理论的影响下,兴起了叙事学、文体学研究的热潮。后又掀起了文化热,即把小说与各类文化结合在一起,进行"跨文化"研究。五、从1980年代起,中国文学批评史著中更关注小说理论。黄霖在三卷本《中国文学批评史》(王运熙、顾易生主编)(1981,1985)中,将小说批评专列章节,论述趋向系统化,完成了史的构架。在此基础上,中国小说理论批评史的研究日趋完整、系统和深入,标志着中国小说理论批评史这门学科已走向成熟。六、随着海外中国古代小说研究者的论著的译介以及改革开放后阅读原著的方便,人们也逐步注意对一些海外名家名著的研究。这类著作中虽然有的内容对我们的研究有一定的消极作用,但从总体上看,还是开阔了我们的视野,促进了我们的研究。 Since the entering of the new period, the study of Chinese ancient fictions has finished the big transformation from the theoretical concept and mode of thinking in the process of introspection and innovation, and the achievements in principle aspects are obvious in the past 30 years. The author would like to give the review in the following six aspects： 1. an attempt of introducing various new methods and views to re considerate the phenomenon and the law of development in Chinese fiction history; 2. the adoption of new methods introduced from abroad to explain the text of Chinese fictions; 3. the introduction of communication and reception study, which became the new learning of fiction＇s communication; 4. In fluenced by ＂new criticism＂, the arising of ＂cross-culture study＂; 5. more emphasis on the fiction theory in Chinese liter ature criticism; 6. more attention on the masterpieces by famous authors.
