Socially shared emotion is a synchronizing emotional reaction to social events based upon attention to shared public concerns. Results from the descriptive analysis suggests that anger is the major emotional reac-tion to hot social issues. According to structural equation model-I, social identification pathway and emotion-al reactions pathway seem to operate independently, and there are mutual enhancements between socially shared emotion and social identification. They at the same time influence social actions efficiency and tenden- cies to insist on collective actions. According to structural equation model - H, emotional regulation strate- gies, especially socially shared emotion regulation with high value, can partly explain social action tendencies and illustrate the differences between our dual - pathway model of collective action and the previous dual - pathway models. This suggests that emotion regulation is an important buffer mechanism in socially sharing e- motions affecting social actions, and provides new evidence for management of emotions in public events.
