2005年初由于国家气象中心业务环境整体向国家级存储系统和新的高性能计算机系统的转移，GRAPES系统在保障老系统运行的情况下也逐步向新的业务环境转移。2005年3月底国家气象中心会同数值预报基地对模式做了较大调整，提高了模式分辨率，并对水汽方案做了改进，分辨率由2004年的0．5625°（约60km）提高到0-3°（约30km）。2005年6月23日，新的系统版本（2．5）正式启动运行，并将MICAPS产品提供给气象台预报服务室。
Because of the transferring of the National Meteorological Center＇s Operation environment entirely to the national-level storage system and the new high-capability computer system in 2005, GRAPES was also transferred to the new environment gradually. Major adjustments were made in GRAPES at the end of March, including the improvement of resolution （from 60 km/0.56° in 2004 up to 30 km/0.30°） and the vapor scheme. The new version （2.5） was put into operation formally on 23 June, and MICAPS products were provided for the forecasting office.
