日常生活中的城乡、阶层和性别——家政女工身份认同与意义构建

Identity Construction and Meaning-Making of Female Domestic Workers in Contemporary China:The Roles of Rural/Urban Divide,Class and Gender in Everyday Life

摘要 家政工群体怎样理解自己的劳动经验和日常生活、如何界定自己的职业和社会身份是一个重要的研究问题。本研究通过参与式观察和半结构化访谈,借助交叉性和批判性话语分析等视角,研究家政工群体对自身劳动经验的讲述以及其中建构出来的阶层、城乡和性别身份的变迁,检视家政女工在工作生活中如何制造和协商意义、进行文化生产。研究发现,结构性和交叉性的社会差异和不平等在一定程度上加剧了家政女工身份认同的“新自由主义化”。但家政女工也在能动性地消解甚至反抗此类不平等,如超越市场和商品逻辑对自身劳动的社会价值赋值,还有在家庭内部对性别不平等的协商,等等。 This paper aims to explore the roles of rural/urban divide,class and gender in the shaping of Chinese female domestic workers'identity construction and meaning-making.With data collected from participant observation and semistructure interviews,it critically analyzes the self-perceptions of female domestic workers'labour experiences as well as their narratives on the everyday life permeating between classes,urban/rural spaces and genders.In particular,it centers on the meaning-making of their work and the construction of their identity through the lens of intersectionality,which has not been fully applied in current research on this topic.It finds that structural and intersectional social distinctions and inequalities contribute substantially to the“neoliberalization”of female domestic workers'identities.However,this social group also shows their agency in dismantling and even resisting to such inequalities,such as the valorization of their labour beyond the logic of the market and commodity,and the negotiation against gender inequalities within the household.
