摘要
“为谁培养人、培养什么人、怎样培养人”是新时代外语教育进入高质量发展阶段所要回答的根本问题,外语课程如何“守好一段渠、种好责任田”也已成为学界关注的焦点问题。本文以一学期的教学实践为基础,结合语言社会化理论、身份认同理论和物质理论等外语教学理论在课堂环境中的实际运用,探讨大学英语演讲课程的课堂教学方法(包括对话教学法、身份教学法和材料教学法),旨在提高学生对教学内容的学习兴趣,逐步加深其国家意识,并最终构建当代中国认同。
As we enter the new era,there are three fundamental questions of foreign language education in China,namely for whom we are teaching,what kind of students we are teaching,and how we teach the students.These questions are essential to the current foreign language education movement that calls for greater native sociocultural and sociopolitical awareness.Informed by the theories of language socialization,identities,and materials,this paper studies effective pedagogies in teaching Understanding Contemporary China:A Public Speaking Course.Based on a semesterlong teaching practice,we find that these pedagogies are helpful in facilitating the students’understandings of contemporary China and developing their national identities.Some teaching reflections are provided at the end.
