《西安事变反省录》的初稿是张学良1959年11月致蒋介石的三封禀函,后由蒋经国编整而成。蒋介石之所以在20年后要张学良撰写西安事变回忆录,是为维护自己编造的谎言,以消除"《热风》事件"的影响;直接动因则是担心中共可能借纪念西安事变20周年之机公布相关档案。张学良虽然被迫作了伪证,但对相关内容的叙述颇为讲究。蒋经国在其父授意下,改变原函体裁,调整段落和删汰部分内容后,定名《西安事变反省录》。为保护张学良,中共并未公布相关档案,蒋介石虚惊一场,他在修改《苏俄在中国》一书时,吸收了张学良禀函中的部分内容,但没好意思采纳逼其编造的伪证。
The first draft of Reflections on the Xi’an Incident consisted of three letters written by Zhang Xueliang and addressed to Chiang Kai-shek.The draft was then edited by Chiang Ching-kuo.The reason why after twenty years Chiang Kai-shek demanded that Zhang Xueliang write his Reflections on the Xi’an Incident was to support his own lies and to eliminate the influence of the'hot air incident,'the direct cause of which consisted of his worries that the CPC might publish the related files on the occasion commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Xi’an Incident.Although Zhang Xueliang was forced to'commit perjury,'the related narrative was quite special.At the behest of his father,Chiang Ching-kuo changed the original genre of the letters,adjusted the paragraphs,and removed some of the content;the letters were named the Reflections on the Xi’an Incident.In order to protect Zhang Xueliang,the CPC did not publish the related files,thereby creating a false alarm for Chiang Kai-shek.When he revised his Soviet Russia in China,Chiang Kai-shek adopted some of the content in Zhang Xueliang’s letters,but he was too embarrassed to adopt the'perjury'that he had forced Zhang Xueliang to commit.
